My painting "Rockridge" was accepted into the Pastel Society of America International exhibition at the National Arts Club in Manhattan. The painting, is a memento of my years of commuting from the Rockridge BART (transit train) in Oakland, CA. to a job in San Francisco. One hot day (the air conditioning had failed in the car) I glanced across the aisle and was transfixed by the way the sunlight caught the upper half of the woman across the aisle dozing in the heat. This was the inspiration for the painting.
