I am pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting in a 2 person show with floral watercolorist, Kevin Woodson, at Creative Framing and Gallery in Oakland, CA.

I will be showing pastels and oils as well as giclee prints and greeting cards. Also included are small watercolor originals, many of which are studies for my larger works in oil and pastel. These are a great way to purchase an original at an affordable price!

Themes for the work will be women, floral and musician paintings, including my new pastel, "Sizzling Sax".

Ellen Dreibelbis And Patti Heimburger Will Be Exhibiting At Alameda Free Library Artist Lecturer Series.

Ellen Dreibelbis and Patti Heimburger will exhibit their paintings on the second floor of the Alameda Main Library, 1550 Oak St. from Monday, Jan. 2, through Saturday, Jan. 28.

Dreibelbis, an Oakland-based artist, creates colorful and dramatic oil and pastel paintings of people of many ages, races, eras and settings, as well as still life and fantastical subjects.

Heimburger lives in Alameda. She creates whimsical, bold and colorful oil landscape paintings with texture and paintings with interesting people as subjects.

There will be a public reception for the artists on from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4 in the Regina K. Stafford meeting rooms on the first floor of the Alameda Free Library.

Artists Magazine Names Ellen Dreibelbis Among Top Artists Over 60

Magazine Names Oakland Resident Among Top Artists Over 60

Glenview resident, Ellen Dreibelbis, is one of the United States top artists over age 60.

That’s according to The Artist’s Magazine, which features her and nine other painters in its March cover story, “Just Keep Painting, 11 Amazing Artists Over 60!”

More than 3300 candidates “dropped their names in our proverbial hat,” writes Senior Editor Holly Davis in her lead-in to the piece. “After evaluating the entries and fighting over favorites, we decided to choose just 10 in order to better display these wonderful artists’ work.”

Responding to the magazine’s call to artists, Dreibelbis, 63, submitted a disk with photos of her pastel paintings of people of many ethnic groups, many inspired by people she sees on the streets of Oakland--and a description of each.

I love to paint people of all races and the Bay Area, with its rich ethnic mix has been deeply inspiring to me for that...
